Project Description

Demolish + New Home Build

This project consisted of the demolition and rebuilding of a modern, semi-detached house, overlooking the harbour bridge and city. The process involved the delicate demolition of the existing dwelling and substantial rock excavation whilst always being aware and cautious of the neighbouring dwelling. The new home consists of three storeys and was built with conventional concrete slabs and full brick construction. The internal fit out is very modern including polished concrete floors, bespoke joinery and kitchen cabinets and off form concrete walls to the entry. A large water tank was also required for the capture of stormwater and this was built in under the new driveway.

Due to the homes orientation and proximity to neighbours louvred roofs and screens have been used extensively to create private, undercover outdoor living areas. An abundance of natural light is also delivered by large skylights over the upper-level kitchen and living areas.

The home has a striking and solid presence from the street with coloured off-form concrete walls and an Alucobond clad upper floor box.
